The final touches are being put together for this year's Otley AC 10-mile road race which is expected to attract another bumper field of more than 350 runners.

The race is next Wednesday, June 11, at 7:30pm and starts on Gallows Hill, just outside the town, and finishes at Otley Cricket Club after taking runners through Pool in Wharfedale, Leathley, Lindley and Farnley.

Entries will be accepted on the day or online via the club's website.

This year's race has attracted sponsorship from national brands including Buff, Up & Running, Nuflex, Yorkshire Tea and the Original Factory Shop as well as Harrogate's Pure Running, and Otley's Red Pepper Restaurant and Pure Energy Gym.

Records for the course have not been broken since 1989 when Colin Moor from Bingley Harriers romped home in 50:56 for the men and Veronique Marot (Leeds City) in 57:50. Should either of the records be beaten this year the winner will get a bonus prize of £50.

First home last year's was Mike Jefferies in 55:58 seconds while the first female was Hannah Oldroyd of Airedale Dodgers in 52nd position overall in 67:24.

The team prize went to Spenborough AC in the men’s race and Skyrac AC in the ladies’ race.
