Manningham Mills’ Scotchman Road ground will echo to the sound of ball on bat again on a Saturday.

Mills were kicked out of the JCT600 Bradford League last September and have since withdrawn their teams from the Bradford Junior League.

However, their ground will now be used every other Saturday by long-established Bradford Mutual Sunday School League side Bowling Baptists, who are moving from Hirst Wood.

“It is expensive but we are excited to be playing at Mills,” admitted Baptists’ secretary Shazaid Yousaf.

“Our costs will be covered by sponsors and we will form junior sides and use the club socially.

"We have another meeting scheduled with Mills’ management about forming a second team to play there as well next season.”

Mills' ground is already being used on a Sunday by Quaid-e-Azam League side Zulfi AK.
