Versatile Tom Collard is set to miss Ilkley’s crucial Yorkshire One match at Doncaster Phoenix on Saturday.

Collard, who deputised at stand off and scored two tries in last week’s 32-12 win over North Ribblesdale, has suffered a knee injury.

But Ilkley should have Josh Kimber back from his skiing holiday to resume in the play-maker role.

Collard apart, head of rugby Rhys Morgan can select from a full-strength squad.

He said: “Tom did a great job for us on Saturday and he has been a valuable member of the squad. It is unfortunate that he picked up the knock as he had a good game.”

The win over North Ribblesdale guaranteed Ilkley of at least a promotion play-off place and killed off Doncaster Phoenix’s hopes of going up.

“We must still treat Saturday’s game as a promotion decider,” said Morgan. “Phoenix are a good side and we were lucky to beat them on the first day of the season.

“I want us to retain our intensity and extend our unbeaten run.

“We are guaranteed a place in the play offs but we want the title.”

Ilkley are one point behind leaders Dinnington but do have a game in hand.

Their title rivals round off their programme with a home clash against Old Brodleians – the last side to defeat Ilkley.

“We cannot worry about what Dinnington are doing,” added Morgan. “This is all about us and how we perform.

“It has been a long campaign but we just need two more big efforts.”
