Wharfedale FA under-17s will play in the West Riding County Minor Cup final for the first time in 46 years when they take on Keighley FA at the County headquarters at Woodlesford on Saturday kicking-off at 2pm.

Wharfedale triumphed 1-0 over Huddersfield in their semi-final despite being underdogs against a side who had won all their four group games by five-goal margins.

Wharfedale, under their new management team of Colin Seal and Gary Proctor, have played some good football in group games against Bradford, Barkston Ash, Craven and Leeds and then in the semi-final.

The only time Wharfedale have previously been in the final was 1967-68 when they won the trophy with a side skippered by Bob Kilmurray and managed by Peter Wigglesworth.

The current side is sponsored by Yeadon-based Energy Manage-ment Plus Ltd who provided their kit.

Sponsor Keith Harrison has now gone a step further in sponsoring rain jackets for the final and supplying a team coach fitted out with tables to take the squad to the final.

The squad for the final is: Shaun Brooks, Jake Chambers, Myles Foley, Simon Hall, George Kear, Nathan McDonnell, Greg Moorhouse, Ben Palmer, Will Patterson, Dylan Palfreyman, Stephen Smith, Josh Snowden, Ben Taylor, Joel Thompson, Will Wells, Bailey Worcester
