Revenge is the name of the game for Yorkshire Division One promotion chasers Ilkley on Saturday.

Old Brodleians, the last team to beat them 13 games ago, are the visitors to Stacks Field and head of rugby Rhys Morgan is keen to put the record straight.

Ilkley were defeated 17-13 when they visited Hipperholme on October 19, and Morgan is determined to erase the memory of that game.

Since that day Ilkley have gone from strength to strength. As well as enjoying a 13-game unbeaten run they have conceded just one try in the last seven matches and have prevented their opponents from scoring on four occasions.

Morgan said: “It was a tough game at Old Brodleians and we didn’t play at our best.

“I want us to put the record straight on Saturday. With the promotion race so tight we just have to keep winning.”

Three teams, Dinnington, Ilkley and Doncaster Phoenix are all level on points with Dinnington leading the table by virtue of points difference.

Morgan added: “We avenged our only other defeat against Wath when they came to Stacks Field and I feel it is important that we keep our unbeaten home record intact.

“We weren’t at our best in the Yorkshire Shield win over North Ribblesdale but we did prevent them from scoring.

“I know the weather conditions have not been suited to good handling, but it is an area for improvement.”

One player who will be missing from Ilkley’s line up is stand off Josh Kimber.

He is expected to be replaced by Tom Collard with Ryan Cooper returning at scrum half.
