Ilkley’s star runners Georgia Malir and Tom Adams were in winning form at th weekend.
Seventeen-year-old Malir powered to victory in the junior ladies race for England at the Cross Internacional de Italica, Seville, Spain.
She recorded a time of 13min 23sec as a quartet of England runners filled the top four positions in a quality field.
Malir pipped her team-mate Bronwen Owen, who is also trained by Andrew Henderson at Leeds Carnegie, by two seconds.
Kay Wood was third in 13:36 with her England team-mate Tessa McCormick fourth in 14:03.
Malir’s performance underlined once again her development into a top-level performer.
Adams’ success came in the populay Stanbury Splash on soggy Haworth Moor.
He led the field home in a time of 43min 50sec.
Adams won the same race back in 2012.
