Harrogate Town 2 Guiseley 3
Gavin Rothery hit a hat-trick of penalties as Guiseley won an eventful Skrill North derby clash at Harrogate Town.
Guiseley keeper Steve Drench also saved a penalty as they extended their unbeaten run to 15 games.
Shane Killick and Steve Mallory were the scorers for Harrogate who visit Guiseley for the return on New Year's Day
Defender Danny Hall was substituted at half-time with a hamstring injury which makes him a doubt for Saturday's home game with Gainsborough Trinity.
Manager Mark Bower said: "We deserved the three points, created the most chances, and stood up to their direct approach.
"They scrambled in a couple of goals from set pieces but all in all I was pleased with how we defended.
"The win keeps the run going and you get into that winning habit. We are almost down to the bare bones but the lads keep going."
