Ilkley Cycling Club are holding a cyclo cross race to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance on a course around Ilkley Lido on Sunday, November 17.
The Go-Cross Charity Cross is being run with the help of Olicana Cricket Club, permission from Bradford Council and co-operation from the management at the Lido. The event is building to be an exciting day out for spectators and competitors alike.
All the proceeds, after a small amount of costs have been taken out, will be donated to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
The course has been evolving over the last few weeks and Olicana Cricket Club have been supportive and have allowed use of their outfield to add some distance to the circuit, taking it to over a mile in length.
Olicana’s clubhouse will be the race headquarters, with signing on and the finish line right by the patio.
Shower and changing facilities will be made available and they will be providing hot and cold drinks, food and a bar during the event.
Entry to all races is on the day and is an event open to all riders. Entrance fees are £1 for the under-12s, £5 for youths (under-16) and £10 for ladies, veterans, juniors and seniors.
A Novice race will also be held in the afternoon. The entrance cost will be £5, it is aimed at any one who wants to give it a go. All are welcome, but riders are asked not to train on the course – which is only available on race day.
