Otley Rugby Club is mourning its loyal servant Colin Gamble, pictured, who died on December 31 aged 76.

He joined the club 40 years ago and carried out many valuable jobs including touch judge and bag man for the 1st XV and the Luddites, committee member and groundsman, duty officer, member of the Wednesday Gang – who carried out maintenance an the club – mini-rugby coach for eight years and regular fundraising event organiser Colin, who leaves a wife Sue, lived at Bank Top Farm, Arthington.

Interim director of rugby Ryan Duckett said: “I first came down to Otley in 1997 and Colin has been a major part of the club as a player, administrator and fund-raiser.”

Colin’s funeral will be at St Giles’ Church, Bramhope next Tuesday (11.30am).
