Guiseley’s next three matches may be in different competitions but there will be no letting up from their manager Steve Kittrick.

The second-placed Lions face second-from-bottom Histon at home in Blue Square Bet North on Saturday and meet Harrogate Town away next Tuesday in the third round of the West Riding County FA Cup, in which the Lions are holders, before travelling to Skelmersdale United a week on Saturday in the second round of the FA Trophy.

“If you are serious about gaining promotion, then you have to keep on winning,” said Kittrick.

The Harrogate Town match, which was postponed last Tuesday, has taken the place of Guiseley’s home league derby against FC Halifax Town.

Guiseley’s chief executive officer Adrian Towers said: “The West Riding County FA have taken the view that it is the right thing to do to switch the Harrogate Town tie to next Tuesday. We were always aware that this might happen although whether the people from Halifax Town are happy is not for me to say.”

While Guiseley have played 17 matches – as many as any club in the division – Halifax have only played 13 and Harrogate Town 12, which are the lowest totals of any two clubs in Conference Premier, Conference North or Conference South.
