Coach Rhys Morgan has called on his Ilkley players to recapture the buzz as they enter a key period in their battle for promotion from Yorkshire Division One.

After enjoying a rare Saturday off last week, Morgan has had his squad working hard in training this week ahead of the home game with Bridlington.

“If the players are serious about wanting to win promotion they have to ensure they are focused at all times. There has to be a buzz about the place in everything they do.

“I don’t think we quite have it yet despite being second in the league, but we are in a great position to push on from.”

There are three more games before the Christmas break after the Bridlington clash.

The Dalesmen visit Dinnington next week before emtertaining North Ribblesdale on December 8nd visiting third-placed Wath a week later.

“It’s a tough little period,” said Morgan, “but it will show what we are made of.”

Centre Craig Barker has recovered from injury and is set to play but skipper Stuart Vincent has suffered a setback and faces a longer lay off.
