Zac Dale was given a chance ti impress
Guiseley manager Steve Kittrick was delighted with the way his Lions roared into action in their 4-1 West Riding County Cup first round win over Bradford Park Avenue.
They scored three times in the first ten minutes prompting Kittrick to joke, “It is probably the first time this season they have listened to my pre-match team talk.”
“I keep telling them the first ten minutes and the last ten minutes are the most important times of the game.
“We really got at them and scored some good goals.”
Kittrick was delighted with new striker Kevin Holsgrove and the contributions of Academy players Zak Dale and Macauley Parkinson who are 16 and 17 respectively and started the game.
He said: “Kevin looked sharp and took his goal well. He was unlucky not to score more.”
On his young players he added: “Macauley was at Manchester United and Sheff- ield United and the other players in the squad can see he is a good player.
“Zac is different,” he added. “He has an eye for goal and like Macauley is the future of this club if we can keep hold of them.”
A third member of the Academy squad, Luke Robinson, was given a 20 minute appearance as a substitute and he celebrated by scoring his side’s fourth goal.
Kittrick is expected to revert to his experienced players for Saturday’s home league game with Vauxhall Motors and Tuesday's trip to Altrincham.
