SIR - It is sad to see local non-league football club, Guiseley AFC, now officially relegated, after three years in the national league-the top tier of non-league football. Although the club had some success, they never consolidated their position in that league, only managing to stay up by the skin-of-their-teeth during the first two of those seasons. I have attended home games during this period and the approach at games was usually entertaining and enjoyable. In hindsight, though, some players were let go too hastily, signing replacements didn't work out and perhaps going full-time was the wrong move for 'the Lions.'

There are still a few matches to go to, but supporters will now be turning their attention to next season in the National League North and hoping the club can first stabilise and then eventually mount a promotion challenge. For those who look for a football experience that is inexpensive with largely friendly crowds and non-threatening atmosphere, the experience at Nethermoor Park is a good choice, as is Horsfall Stadium, where Bradford Park Avenue play. I will miss them over the summer months!
