Acclaimed Otley rock band The Chevin’s much-anticipated debut album is now on sale.
Borderland, which was recorded in South Texas, hit the shops and online stores on Monday.
But millions of video gamers have already been enjoying an early taster of the album, which is packed with epic-sounding rock that’s been likened to The Killers and U2.
The Chevin’s first single from the CD, Champion, is featured on the soundtrack of the multi-million selling game Fifa 13, which has been out since the end of September.
The band, whose members are all former Prince Henry’s Grammar School students, showcased other tracks from the record when they played at the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds last week.
The concert followed a long and successful stint in America, which included performing on the Late Show with David Letterman in front of the First Lady, Michelle Obama.
Singer, Coyle Girelli, said it was good to be home: “We miss Otley, it’s in our blood, it’s our home and it’s with us however far away we are.”
The deluxe version of Borderland has three extra tracks, including one, Menwith Hill, whose name will ring a bell with both peace protesters and military base enthusiasts in the area, and is available on iTunes.
