Work is due to start this month on a 25-house develop-ment in Ilkley that will include five affordable rented homes.
Social housing landlord Incommunities says the “high quality” family-sized homes should be complete by spring 2013, 20 of which will be for sale. They are being built on the site of sheltered housing complex Dale Court and are supported by the Homes and Communities Agency.
Lumia Homes – part of Incommunities – is project-managing the scheme.
The Incommunities group chairman, Ilkley ward councillor Martin Smith, said: “This latest development continues our investment in providing much-needed new homes in Wharfedale.
“During the past nine years, we have spent in excess of £10 million in building new homes in the area, as well as modernising existing proper-ties. This investment has contributed to the regener-ation of local communities.”
