Sunday Scotland service launched

A first-ever Sunday service between Leeds Bradford Airport and Glasgow took to the sky last weekend.

Scottish airline firm Loganair currently operates a twice-daily service on weekdays between the Yeadon airport and north of the border, which it says is proving particularly popular with business users.

But now the firm is hoping the Sunday flights will also prove a hit with leisure passengers.

Phil Preston, Loganair chief operating officer, said: “We are delighted to be able to add an additional Sunday service on the Leeds Bradford to Glasgow route.

“We have been really impressed with our passenger numbers since we took over the original weekday services earlier this year, and decided to introduce the additional Sunday flights to offer both our business and leisure users even greater connectivity from two of Britain’s most popular gateway destinations.”

Tony Hallwood, LBA’s commercial director, said: “I am delighted the schedule is already proving attractive to both business and leisure traffic, and that a new Sunday service is therefore being introduced.

“It is important business links between these regions are maintained and developed.”

The Sunday service will depart from Glasgow at 5.15pm, arriving at Leeds Bradford Airport at 6.20pm. The flight from LBA will leave at 6.50pm and land in Glasgow at 7.55pm. Visit flybe.com or call 0871 7002000 for further information.
