Love Brownies founder and head baker Chantal Teal
Ilkley bakery company Love Brownies has won two gold stars from The Great Taste Awards – the UK’s most recognised and trusted food and drink accolades.
Founder and head baker Chantal Teal has been cooking up a storm since launching Love Brownies – which sells her tasty treats online – just two years ago.
Every brownie, which includes gluten-free options, is individually hand-baked, and Chantal insists on local ingredients, wherever possible. Her eggs, for example, come from a nearby farm on Menwith Hill, and her butter from a traditional dairy in Harrogate.
Chantal said: “I wanted to enter my gluten-free brownies into the Great Taste Awards so people with gluten intolerances could see that food can still taste amazing – you just need to know where to get it from!
“To get one gold star is an achievement, but two – well, I can’t stop smiling!’ Chantal, who has already won awards for her cakes, says her gluten-free brownies are cooked to a special, secret recipe. And she defies anyone to tell the difference between them and her standard brownies.
You can order online at www.lovebrownies.co.uk or buy them at the La Stazione café in Ilkley.
