Donations boost appeal for Eve’s life-changing op

Two more donations are helping to fund a Menston girl’s trip to America for a life-changing operation.

Eve Williams, seven, who has quadriplegic cerebral palsy, should be able to enjoy much better mobility following the surgery in July, which will be followed by several years of follow-on phsyiotherapy.

Her parents, Gina and David, launched an appeal last year to raise the £100,000 they will need to cover all the costs, and have been amazed at the amount of support they have received.

The appeal total has just been given another boost, thanks to a £10,000 donation by Otley-based charity Hang on to a Dream and £1,673 from Otley Lions, which will cover the cost of the return flights for Eve and her mum.

A host of other fundraising events are planned over the coming months, including sponsored swims by one of Eve's grandmothers and an aunt, sales and coffee mornings.
