Ilkley artists join promenade gallery
8:40am Saturday 2nd June 2012 in Local news
An amateur photographer and her artistic mother were among 100 arts and crafts specialists taking part in one of the country’s biggest open air gallery events.
Alison Frost, from Ilkley, exhibited her photographs alongside paintings in acrylics, watercolours and mixed media by her mother, Lynne, at Prom Art, along the promenade in Grange-over-Sands, on the Cumbrian coast on Sunday.
The event also featured an array of craftspeople, from painters to potters, to jewellers and woodworkers and much more, exhibiting their craft on stands stretching virtually the whole length of the prom.
Organiser, Robert Leach, said: “About a third of our artists now travel more than 50 miles to attend Prom Art and and we were delighted that Ilkley was represented.”
Prom Art events will also be staged on the last Sunday of every month right through to September and the Frosts will be attending every event.
