Children from an Ilkley school tried out the height of fashion 16th century-style, on a visit to Knaresborough Castle.

Pupils from Year 5 at Westville House School enjoyed a day out at the castle earlier this month. The trip was part of their history studies and focused on life in a castle in Tudor times.

The pupils enjoyed getting into costume, building siege engines and taking part in a courtroom drama.

Headmaster Charles Holloway said: “The trip was a great success and really brought life in Tudor times to life for the children. They loved every minute of it.”
