Jubilee will be given a splash of colour at town’s party

Guests are invited to don red, white and blue, and wear their diamonds, for a Jubilee tea dance at Ilkley’s Clarke Foley Centre.

The community centre for the over 50s, on Cunliffe Road, will hold its tea dance on Saturday June 2, from 2pm to 4.30pm.

Music will be provided by the New Horizons Orchestra, and it is hoped the Lord Mayor of Bradford will there on the day.

Centre Manager, Judith Ellis, said: “Clarke Foley's tea dances are always very popular not least because our very own New Horizons Dance Band plays music we all love. We're very pleased that Grammar school pupil Rosie Emsley will be singing during the afternoon, too.

“We already have a jubilee display in the Centre, to get people in the mood. Bunting and other decorations will be added next week.”

Tea is included in the ticket price of £6. There will be a raffle, spot prizes and a prize for the best themed outfit. Tickets are available from the Clarke Foley Centre on Cunliffe Road or by telephone on (01943) 607016.

l The centre has filled a computer improvers’ course, following a recent appeal in the Gazette. More subscribers were needed to keep the course running.
