An Ilkley butcher is confident of getting a healthy cut of the local market for luxury meats.
Lishman’s of Ilkley are stocking for the first time Pata Negra Bellota ham which sells at £495.
The speciality Pata Negra ham is produced in Huelva, southern Spain, and the cut comes from the back leg of the black Iberico pig, which feeds mainly on acorns.
Alex Wright, of Lishman’s, said one of the Pata Negra hams, stocked by Lishman’s for the first time this year, had already sold.
“It’s the first time we have ever been able to supply this wonderful ham to our customers,” she said.
