THE trophies that will be held aloft by the winners of the Tour de Yorkshire visited the Cow and Calf Rocks on Ilkley Moor this morning.

Cyclists from Ilkley Cycle Club and young people from Bradford Council’s Youth Service got to see the trophies at the iconic location where this year's Tour de Yorkshire stage 2 finishes on May 4.

The trophies went on to Ilkley Grammar School, where pupil Sophie Thackray, who is taking part in this year’s women’s race and fellow pupils from the school, got to see them.

Councillor Sarah Ferriby, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Environment, Sport and Culture, said: “It’s really exciting that the Tour de Yorkshire is coming to the district for two days this year and taking the trophies the winners will compete for on a tour of the district continues to build on that excitement.”

Haworth Station on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway are the next stop on the trophy tour this afternoon. The final stop on the trophy tour will be the Black Bull pub on Haworth’s iconic Main Street at 3.30pm to 5pm today. This is where the riders will pass on May 6 as part of the fourth and final stage of the race.
