THE adverse weather conditions last week didn’t stop pupils at All Saints’ C of E Primary in Ilkley from celebrating World Book Day on Thursday.

Not only did pupils brave the freezing winds and snow but they also did it in style by dressing as characters from their favourite books which included Willy Wonker, Tin Tin and of course Frozen!

The school was open for those pupils that needed to attend and that could make their way in safely. This was only made possible by the dedicated team of local staff that were able to make the journey to school.

All Saints C of E Primary was the only Ilkley school which managed to open on Thursday. It normally has 325 pupils although that number was much reduced. Head teacher of nine year Mrs Michelle Robinson was determined to get to work and some staff also made it in, however, the school did close on Friday.
