VOLUNTEERS from Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association (UWFRA) were called out to assist with the transfer of a patient in Ilkley on Friday.
With snow and ice continuing to cause problems for road vehicles, the team received a call from Yorkshire Ambulance Service to assist with the transfer of a patient from his home in Ilkley.
An ambulance was unable to reach the patient's home, due to ice and snow. Team members assisted in moving the patient to the ambulance, then the team Land Rover escorted the ambulance back to main road.
It was the fifth call out for the UWFRA team in just three days.
