THE Grove Bookshop in Ilkley is asking customers to sing its praises in a bid to be named Independent Bookshop of the Year 2018.
The shop has reached the regional shortlist stage of this year’s Nibbies, the annual awards for the bookselling and publishing industries. To progress further it needs customers to let the judges know just what makes the store so special.
Manager Mike Sansbury said: "We have been chosen on the strength of our entry, which explained who we are, what we do and how we try to be the very best independent bookshop that we can.
"We are one of five shops shortlisted for the North of England, and the next stage of the judging process relies very much on our wonderful customers. We would be thrilled if some or preferably, all of you could take a few minutes to let the organisers know how much your local bookshop means to you.
"It might be customer service, it could be the relaxing atmosphere, or maybe speed of delivery when you place an order. It might just be the welcome you receive or the events we arrange. Whatever you love about The Grove Bookshop, please follow the link below and select the North England region, then write a few words about us. The judges will announce the national shortlist on 16th March, so time is of the essence!"
