THE manager of the Bolton Bridge Co-op in Ilkley, Ian Brown, has handed over a cheque to Macmillan Cancer Support for £2,500.
The money is the result of a year of fundraising in 2017 by staff from the Co-op stores in the area.
Ian Brown started the fundraising by trekking the Three Peaks in June in the pouring rain and has continued at both the Brook Street and the Bolton Bridge stores where customers have been generous in their support. Word got out at other stores in the area, with staff there holding raffles to contribute even more to the funds.
On Friday , February 2 Ian met committee members Christine Martinez and Mary Heathcote to hand over the magnificent sum of £2,500 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Christine thanked Ian on behalf of the Ilkley fundraising committee and said how much Macmillan will appreciate the generosity of all the Co-op managers, staff and their local customers.
