ILKLEY’S nightlife scene is being boosted by the opening of The Ticket Office, a premium cocktail and drinks bar within the railway station complex.

Following an extensive refurbishment, the former restaurant has been transformed into an over 21s drinks venue which incorporates a Platform lounge, intimate booth areas and a central bar. One hundred VIPs were the first to receive red carpet treatment at the launch on Friday.

Alongside cocktail favourites including Espresso Martinis, the drinks menu includes a nod to local landmarks such as bourbon based tipples Smoke on the Moor and Ilkley Mure Bah Tat. The bar’s signature cocktail is Rhubarb and Ginger Negroni, a mix of Rhubarb gin, ginger liqueur, Campari and sweet vermouth.

Another gin based cocktail, the Rhubarb Triangle, has been created in partnership with local cancer charity fundraisers Ilkley Candlelighters. A donation from every Rhubarb Triangle sold will their work.

The bar also stocks a range of premium wines, champagnes, spirits and cask ales and craft beers, including its own exclusive 4% Deutsch Pilsner, the aptly named Bahnhof.

During the day, the bar will serve a range of quality coffees, non-alcoholic cocktails and loose leaf teas.

The Ticket Office is the brainchild of Ilkley businessman Adam Lewis and will employ around 15 staff. The bar will be managed by Master Mixologist Lawrence Doyle.

Lawrence, who has a long track record in managing high end restaurants and bars, said the venue will attract a discerning clientele, offering innovative cocktails and premium drinks in an elegant environment.

He said: “We’re a small, independent business and are proud to be part of Ilkley’s re-emerging night scene. Our location within Ilkley railway station makes us a super-accessible and equally upscale alternative to a night out in Leeds.

“We’ve not gone overboard on the railway theme, but customers can expect to find a nod to the building’s heritage in our stylish interior."

The venue, which will be available for private hire and cocktail masterclasses in the New Year, can accommodate up to 150 people. There are plans to open a heated outdoor terrace and launch a food menu in the spring.

The Ticket Office is open 11am to 11pm Wednesday and Sunday, 11am-midnight on Thursday and 11am to 1am on Fridays and Saturdays.
