PEDESTRIANS are putting themselves in danger by walking along a vehicle only entrance to an Ilkley car park.
Cllr Mike Gibbons told a meeting of Ilkley Parish Council he was increasingly seeing more and more people walking up the drive-way to the M&S car park.
He said there was a small out-dated sign saying "no pedestrians" but added: "But we are seeing lots of people using it anyway."
He said he was becoming increasingly concerned about pedestrians on the narrow driveway where it was already difficult for cars to pass each other.
The issue is now being looked into by Ilkley's early intervention and prevention officer with West Yorkshire Police PC Sam Hollings.
But Cllr Henri Murison said for disabled people there were no other routes across town other than walking all the way around.
He added: "There are some significant pedestrian access problems in the town."
He urged the council to write to Northern Rail expressing concern about the limited access to the station from that side of town.
"It is people accessing the station who might otherwise have to walk another ten minutes," he said.
