THE Plantation florist shop in Ilkley enjoyed 12 years of success on Railway Road until 2000 when Jane Tapper and Lynn Dent went their separate ways. They kept in touch whilst their young children were growing up, and by pure fate have re-united with each other.

The sepia photo from the Ilkley Gazette shows them outside the shop in 1989 when they were commissioned to create flowers for HRH Princess Anne visit to the International Wool Secretariate on Valley Drive.

The other photo of them is now in 2017, trying to get everything prepared in time for the opening.

Nearly 30 years since opening the original doors, and 17 years since they last worked together, Jane and Lynn have decided to create all over again. They have found a wonderful new venue at 140 Main Street, Addingham. It was a former drapers shop in Addingham for 90 years in the Roe family, and to this day still retains many of the original features that Lizzie Roe and her family created. It then became the Olive Branch and being right in the centre of the village, was a great place to visit for unusual gifts and warm hospitality

Jane said: "The shop has a warmth and charm, truly quintessential of a village years gone by. We are both both extremely excited to be creating magic again together, and felt that Addingham was a great village to be working in. The Plantation Addingham will be opening on November 23, just in time for the gorgeous Christmas wreaths and wonderful festive flowers and gifts.

"Weddings, corporate events, and funerals were always the Plantations speciality, so we feel very excited about opening, and in 2018 sharing the wonderful joy of flowers.

"We will be welcoming customers old and new, to The Plantation, Addingham. Please join us for a glass of fizz and mince pies on the 23rd November from 1pm."
