TWISTED Bars Ltd have taken over the lease and are transforming a former restaurant site next to Ilkley train station.

The site in Station Road has had many previous incarnations in the past, including the ‘The Green Frog’ which was well-loved during the 1980s.

The group who opened Guiseley Bar ‘Everybodys’ in March 2016 are ploughing £250,000 into creating the 3,000 square ft Ticket Office Bar promising to transform the venue into a high end cocktail and drinks venue.

Adam Lewis, managing director of Twisted Bars said: “I have lived in and around Ilkley all my life and am aware of the fantastic food offerings available in the town but have watched the bar scene virtually disappear. My vision behind the venue is to offer a premium drink led experience for those who appreciate the superior products you would only usually find in a city centre venue. There are a number of eating venues in Ilkley, however, the amount of mainly drinking establishments does not necessarily correspond. ‘Ticket Office Bar’ will be largely drinks focused with a small food offering to complement. There will be a minimum age policy, delivering classic cocktails with a twist, focusing on the drinks and experience side of hospitality.”

The venue which is set to open in autumn/winter 2017 will be creating around 25 new jobs and is currently compiling it’s opening team. This is Twisted Bars second venture and they are looking to rapidly expand by opening a further eight sites in Yorkshire within the next eight to nine years.
