A FORMER fitness instructor diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2013 is to host her fourth black tie ball in Ilkley.

Bev Wright is organising the ICE Ball at the Craiglands Hotel on Saturday, November 11, from 7pm to 1am, to raise money for The Yorkshire Brain Research Centre.

Bev has already raised a total of £26.5k for charity which is working for better diagnosis, treatment and outcomes for people with MS, Parkinson's, dementia, epilepsy and stroke.

For the second year running the ball is being sponsored by The Yorkshire Clinic and this year organisers are delighted that it will be supported by Duncan Preston star of Dinner Ladies, Acorn Antiques and more recently Emmerdale, who is a special guest.

Tickets are £60 which includes champagne on arrival, half bottle of wine, three-course meal, raffle with the chance to win a £500 holiday voucher from Thomas Cook, auction and disco. The ball will be hosted by John Danbury with entertainment by Lizy and The Crescendos.

Bev said: "This is the fourth year that the ball has run. It was named the ICE Ball so people hopefully associate it with neurological conditions (like

Candlelighters for children's cancer and Firecracker for Barnado's). Raising awareness of the conditions is also a main objective of the event.

"I have Multiple Sclerosis, my Dad had Alzheimer's before he passed away and my neighbour has Parkinson's which is how I became involved with The

Yorkshire Brain Research Centre.

"The money raised is given to The Yorkshire Brain Research Centre but last year we also bought reclining chairs, a TV and some artwork for ward 26

(Day Case Unit) at Leeds General Infirmary where people with these conditions are treated. Patients are usually there all day (often with a carer) so we wanted to make their time there as comfortable as possible.

"We will be working with the ward again this year to establish what else is needed.

"At the event we will have a fabulous band, Lizy and The Crescendos, a DJ, a MC, a silent and live auction, a raffle and the chance to win a £500

Thomas Cook Voucher to use on the destination of your choice plus champagne on arrival a three course mean and half a bottle of wine.

"The total raised over the four years is £26.5k so we are hoping to break the £30k mark this year."
