ILKLEY magician Hedley Fawcett has won a trophy at this year's Northern Magic Circle convention.
Mr Fawcett, who attended his first convention in 1957, took part in the Close Up Competition, winning the trophy for the best performance.
In 1959 he won the Sowden Shield with his wife Vilma performing their act Magic of the Hands. In 1970 they were elected President and Lady of the organisation.
Mr Fawcett said: "One of the Northern Magic Circle's founder members was Harry Robinson who had three newsagents shops in Otley, when serving children he would often make their change vanish!"
