A PLANE from Leeds Bradford Airport is believed to have been damaged during a landing in Spain.

The incident, involving a Boeing 757-200 carrying 280 passengers and eight crew, happened at Alicante Airport on Monday, April 10.

Online reports have suggested that the aircraft, flight LS271 from Leeds, 'bounced' on landing and that its tail struck the runway as it was being brought under control.

A Jet2.com spokesman said: "Our LS271 flight from Leeds Bradford to Alicante Airport experienced a landing incident on Monday, April 10.

"The aircraft taxied to the stand as normal and there were no injuries.

"As is standard procedure, The Spanish Civil Aviation Accident and Incident Investigation Commission have opened an investigation, and we are working closely with them to support them on this."
