A GUISELEY girls football team has been kitted out thanks to support from an estate agent.

Guiseley Girls under 13’s, who play in Division 1 of the West Riding Girls Football League, are being sponsored by Manning Stainton.

Clare Frieze, manager of the company's Guiseley branch, said: "Clubs like Guiseley play such an important role in the local community that it is a real pleasure and privilege to be able to help them."

The girls section of the football club was launched nine years ago by Donna Stringer and now has 120 girls playing in 11 teams, from under six through to under 15.

Donna said: "The girls section has grown way beyond our wildest expectations and is now one of the biggest in Yorkshire. Of course with this level of success comes increased running costs so it is great that community minded companies like Manning Stainton are so willing to lend their support.

"We have also recently had planning permission passed for a new clubhouse on land off Bradford Road, so now our major focus is on raising funds to make this exciting project a reality."

It is the second time Manning Stainton has supported the club having previously sponsored a kit for the under 9's. It has also supported the Christmas lights initiative, and earlier this year bought a new playhouse for Guiseley Primary Pre-School which lost toys and equipment worth £4,500 in an arson attack.
