ST MARY'S Year 8 Football team have won the County Cup.

With 32 entries from all over West Yorkshire, St Mary's lifted the trophy at Shelly AFC, having played against Rastrick. The final score was 2-1 with goals scored by Samuel Deacon and Billy Carroll. Edward Hazlegreaves was Man of the Match.

Assistant Faculty Leader of PE and Sport and Team Manager Mr Tom Pringle said: “St Mary's have played some exceptional teams in the competition and their performances have been nothing short of outstanding. I am so proud of all the students involved, not only for their level of play but the way they have conducted themselves and won with humility and grace. The team also received much support from staff, students and parents and they should be incredibly proud of themselves - they are a credit to the school.”
