A SERIES of walks has been announced for 2017 in villages between Keighley and Skipton.

South Craven Walking 4 Health has unveiled its new programme of 'health walks', which will take place on Monday and Thursday mornings.

Health walks are short walks lasting about 90 minutes which are designed specifically for people who want to undertake some exercise for health reasons.

A spokesman said: “Our walks take place in the villages south of Skipton and also in Silsden.

“The walks are followed by refreshments at a local village or church hall. All the walks are led by trained and experienced voluntary walk leaders."

The first Thursday walk is on January 5, and Monday walks begin on January 9.

South Craven Walking 4 Health is one of the 400-plus health walk schemes in England supported by The Ramblers and Macmillan Cancer Care.
