VOLUNTEERS are being sought as part of an initiative which helps people with long-term health problems remain independent at home.
Recruits would support a team of health and social care professionals working across Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven.
The so-called personal support mentors could carry out tasks such as helping people to get out and about, showing them how to use technology to manage their condition or organising activities.
Volunteers are recruited and managed by Age UK Bradford and District.
Kathryn Mitchell, the charity's head of integrated care, said: "The support offered by our volunteers is varied as we work with individuals, their carers, friends and family to agree a plan of action that is specific to them, their needs and circumstances.
"We help people to make the most of their strengths, skills and personal resources and try to find solutions to some of the difficulties and issues they face."
