A BURLEY nursery school has been rated as 'outstanding' in all areas after its first Ofsted inspection.

Joanne Hanbidge, owner and manager of Burley Nursery School Limited in Station Road, who gave birth to her third child just a week before the inspection, said she couldn't be prouder of the achievement.

"We are extremely pleased to have been identified as an Outstanding early years provider across all areas of the care and education that we offer during our recent inspection," she said.

"Our staff team work have worked so hard to achieve these high standards and are committed in continuing these standards. As the nursery manager and owner I couldn't be prouder of what we have all achieved."

The nursery was registered in 2015 and employs 21 members of childcare staff and provides care all year round for pre-school children, aged up to five, and has 45 places.

The inspection was carried out by The Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills (Ofsted) on October 25, who rated the childcare provision as outstanding in all areas, which includes: effectiveness or the leadership and management; quality of teaching, learning and assessment; personal development, behaviour and welfare and outcomes for children.

During the assessment the inspector observed teaching, both indoors and outdoors, held a meeting with the manager to check relevant documentation, including staff qualifications, spoke to a selection of parents and talked to staff and children.

Key findings included: Staff are well qualified, passionate about their roles and are extremely motivated; children's emotional well-being is highly prioritised; children are motivated by inspirational activities; the manager and staff have built excellent relationships with other professionals, agencies and local schools; partnerships with parents are superb and information is shared very effectively and the manager is extremely passionate, ensuring all aspects provide parents and children with excellent quality.

The Ofsted inspector concluded: "All children are developing excellent skills for future learning and in readiness for their move on to school."
