ORGANISERS of the Ilkley Art Trail say this year's event has broken all records, with thousands of visits paid to Ilkley Town Hall and the other 24 venues across town.

"Footfall to all the venues is up by 38 per cent on last year with over 9,000 visits to see the artists and their work which is a staggering increase and testimony to the quality of the art on display," said organiser and chair of Ilkley Arts, Sarah Thomas. "All the trustees of Ilkley Arts are delighted at this year’s success.

“We’ve had some lovely feedback from the public and this year there were people who came to Ilkley just to see the Art Trail which is wonderful.

"There were over 60 artists showing their work and we had some wonderful events too over the three days. Bradford School of Art ran some excellent textile workshops, we had a sound and light scape happening on the bandstand and Middleton Corpus, contemporary dance company was watched by an audience of around 50 people as they performed a piece called ‘Without End’ on the flagstones outside the Manor House."

Sarah added “Everyone at the Art Trial would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to Ilkley Parish Council and Bradford Council for all their support and for allowing us to use the Town Hall as a venue again this year and to all the businesses and supporters who have helped make the Trail another great success."

There is a further opportunity to see and buy some of the artist's work at two Christmas Fair being held at the Ilkley Arts Studio in Back Nelson Road, Ilkley on November 10, 11 and 12 and December 8, 9 and 10. For full details and opening times visit the Ilkley Arts website - ilkleyarttrail.co.uk
