AN Ilkley Moor Medical Practice worker has completed a challenge to walk 100km over two days to raise money for the British Lung Foundation.

Caroline Leeming took part in The Thames Path Challenge which starts at Putney Bridge in London and finishes at Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire.

She took on the challenge to raise funds for the British Lung Foundation and so far has raised more than £800. She said: "I completed the walk in a total of 19 hours for the 100 km distance. We walked through incessant rain on the Saturday but by the Sunday it was bright and sunny. No blisters, just aching a lot!"

She was inspired to take part to raise money for the British Lung Foundation after a friend and former colleague was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis a few years ago.

"Since then I have become aware that research into this incurable condition is woefully under-funded and wanted to do something to raise money for much-needed research into the causes and new ways of treating it," she added.

"So far the sum raised is just over £800. The sponsors have been very generous, and if anyone else would like to donate the page is still available at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/CAROLINE-LEEMING1"
