AT JUST two years of age little Libby Rowley has already endured more than any child should have to.

Diagnosed with a Wilms' tumour which affects both of her kidneys, she has undergone an operation to remove the growth and has also had chemotherapy treatment.

Now staff at a Guiseley bar are holding a fundraising day and a three-legged challenge to help put a smile back on her face. They are hoping to raise money to give Libby a Wendy house and to make her bedroom fit for a princess. They are also aiming to give the family a much-needed holiday abroad.

The events are being organised by staff at Everybodys Bar and Restaurant in Guiseley where Libby's dad Sean works.

The fundraising day will take place on Sunday, August 28 and will include a barbecue, children's entertainment from 1pm to 3pm, and live music from Matt Dunwell of the City of Lights and Martha Phillips of The Elephant Trees from 5pm to 7pm. There will also be a charity raffle with prizes including meals, clothes vouchers and hair and beauty treatments.

A limited edition Libby Ale will be on sale, with 20p from every pint sold going into the fund.

In a further bid to raise funds staff members Ali Allawa and Holly Roberts will be completing three-legged in the Three Peaks Challenge on Saturday, August 27.

Jodie Beer, general manager at the bar said: "This has been an incredibly tough time for Sean, Ellise and Libby, so we are really happy we can do this for them and give Libby lots to smile about. The day is set to be a great event and it’s so good that we can do something within the community, here in Guiseley. People really care about each other here and hopefully on Sunday we can show everyone just how much."

Sean said: "We are really grateful to all the team and generous guests here offering to help us make our home much more enjoyable for Libby. We are just so thankful for the wonderful community."

Ellise also stressed the family's gratitude and invited everyone along to the fundraising day.

"We are hoping to surprise Libby with a beautiful Wendy house and make her room into a little palace," she said. "Libby has been through so much and want to give every everything a child could wish for as we don't know what she has to face in the future."
