SHEEP dog trials and a vintage tractor display will feature in next weekend's Arthington Show.

The event, the 99th organised by Arthington, Bramhope, Pool and District Horticultural and Agricultural Society, takes place by Pool-in-Wharfedale Bridge on July 3.

Competition categories in the main ring will include heavy horses, gymkhana and mounted fancy dress, alongside numerous classes in the cattle and sheep sections.

There will also be other attractions throughout the day, including stalls and refreshments, live music, pygmy goats, a children's corner, an Airedale Beagles display and a drystone walling demonstration.

The produce marquee, meanwhile, will be full of locally-grown vegetables and fruit, home baking, eggs, preserves and handicrafts.

Free car parking will be available at the showground, off Castley Lane, and admission costs £6 or £3 for senior citizens and children, with family tickets – for two adults and up to three children – available for £15.

The first classes begin at 8.30am. Visit arthingtonshow.co.uk for more details.
