TALENTED performers and musicians are preparing to showcase their skills in the third Aireborough Performing Arts Festival.

The annual event has become an established part of the calendar in local schools, with performances from stage acts and rock and pop bands.

This year's event, from June 7 to 9, will take place at Guiseley Theatre, and will help support the profile and upkeep of the treasured venue.

The festival will be run by local company, JP Productions, led by artistic director, Jacob Phillips, who has been responsible for developing artistic experience and performing arts since 2013.

The event will once again be supported by the Youth Activity Fund, endorsed by the Outer North West Community Committee, as well as Aireborough Children’s Services.

Children’s Champion, Guiseley and Rawdon councillor Pat Latty, said: "Previous years’ events have provided a series of memorable and highly entertaining evenings that showcase the artistic abilities and gifts of our local children and young people./

"You cannot help but come away feeling positive about our community and what young people have to offer.”

Simon Toyne, from Aireborough Children's Services, said: "This year promises to bring more bright and fresh talent to the stage, and it is hoped that previous winners from the Battle of the Acts, The Elephant Trees, will be part of the judging panel for this year’s rock and pop acts."

Information about ticket sales will be released later this month.
