The charity, set up to provide safe and reliable transport for people in the local community, will use the donation from Morrisons Keighley to help purchase a new fully-accessible minibus, ensuring as many people as possible can benefit from the service.

Ilkley & District Good Neighbours Community Transport chairman, John Jewitt, said: "This fantastic grant is the largest single donation we have had towards the cost of the much-needed replacement of our 12-year-old fully-accessible Renault minibus, and will enable us to continue to provide transport to people who need our services because of age, sickness or disability, or because of lack of availability of public passenger services."

The Morrisons Foundation was set up in February last year to provide grants to both local and national charities that improve people’s lives.

Morrisons Foundation trustee, David Scott, said: "We are delighted to have awarded this grant to Ilkley & District Good Neighbours Community Transport.

"They provide a great service, and I’m sure this new minibus will help people for many years to come.”
