NEW Year 7 Ilkley Grammar School students have enjoyed a busy and fun-filled first few weeks of term.

As well as settling in with their new teachers and timetables, they have also experienced a day of team-building at Ilkley's Nell Bank Activity centre.

Nell Bank provides day and residential experiences for schools and community groups across the full age and ability range. The award-winning activities and nationally significant inclusive facilities make it a top choice for learning outside the classroom. The accessible location and stunning surroundings make Nell Bank an ideal venue for such team-building courses.

Jess Watson, Year 7 leader, was thrilled with the enthusiasm and energy her team showed at Nell Bank.

"They have been focused on getting involved (one of their year values) and have been building new friendships and becoming part of their learning community," she said.

"The day at Nell Bank is invaluable to our new students and something they always remember fondly."

The students took part in various activities, including the Trust Trail (an innovative blindfold exercise developing communication, leadership and trust), orienteering and a 'piranha-infested' river (a classic cross-the-gap team exercise).
