PUPILS in Key Stage 1 at an Ilkley Primary School are 'fighting fit' after exploring ways of being healthy, which included the food we eat and taking exercise.
The topic of 'Fighting Fit' at Ashlands Primary School in Leeds Road culminated in a sponsored skip which raised money for the British Heart Foundation and helped the children stay healthy at the same time.
Pam Dennis, Key Stage co-ordinator said: "All of the children in KS1 took part in this, using skipping ropes donated by BHF.
"The children had a fantastic time, challenging themselves to manage at least 20 skips during the afternoon. Even the teachers were prompted to take a trip down memory lane, reviving old playground skipping songs.
"The children raised a huge total of £574 in sponsor money!"
