ILKLEY Grammar School welcomed its new deputy headteacher.
Sally Bishop joins IGS from the position of Vice Principal at Minsthorpe Community College, having had previous experience in leading Sixth Forms and leading whole school Learning and Teaching in a range of 11-18 schools.
As Deputy Head for Progress and Experience, Miss Bishop’s responsibility will be to ‘develop and enhance students’ experiences and achievements through the school’s ethos and learning culture.
She will be working closely with other members of the Leadership Team on guidance and all aspects of Personal Best, including aspects such as rewards, sanctions and promoting leadership and responsibility.
Sally is passionate about providing the best opportunities, “I recognise individual strengths, but mostly sustained effort and hard work in achieving potential.”
