AIREDALE Hospital’s chief executive has been ranked as one of the top NHS leaders in the country.

Bridget Fletcher is among the leading 50 named in a health sector news publication.

She is judged outstanding against five criteria – impact, communication, patient focus, engagement and mentorship.

“I am pleased and honoured to be recognised in this way,” she said.“I feel it is a reflection on the whole of the Airedale NHS Foundation Trust rather than just its chief executive.”

The Health Service Journal says Mrs Fletcher “leads beyond her organisational boundaries and has real impact”.

Michael Luger, the trust’s chairman, said: “Having worked with Bridget now for nine months I can verify how well-deserved this honour is.”
