RESIDENTS and staff of the Bupa Burley Hall Nursing Home were joined by the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Mike Gibbons, to celebrate the completion of a £300,000 refurbishment to create a more dementia-friendly environment in Greenholme, a dedicated house that specialises in the care of older people living with dementia.

The home on Cornmill Lane, Burley-in-Wharfedale, has been refurnished as part of Bupa’s multi-million-pound commitment to providing even better services for older people.

Greenholme now benefits from dementia-friendly designs, including calming colour schemes, a reminiscence area with memorabilia, bedroom doors that carry the design of a real front door so that when residents leave their bedroom they get the impression they are walking out of their own home.
